“Try to have fun and enjoy it as and the process as much as you can, it can be overwhelming and stressful but at the end of the day it will all be worth it!”

Erika

How did you meet originally and get together? We originally met online and then setup our first date not too long later in New York City. We hit it off right away and quickly found out that we had a lot in common, from Erika spending her summers in same beachtowns in New Jersey where Terence grew up to Trence playing football with Erika’s brother in laws brother in College.

How did the proposal go, if there was one? The proposal was sweet and intimate! After a few months of organzing the ring with Erika’s sisters and mom, Terecne proposed on on of their summer morning coffee drives at a little lake near Erika’s hometown in Connecticut.

Could you sum up your wedding in a couple of sentences – how would you describe the look/theme of the day and the overall vibe? The wedding was light and airy, we were hoping with the pastel flowers, and wildflower/garden vibes, it would truly feel like we were enjoying a summer day with our closest family and friends. So much of the day was spent outdoors, from the ceremony to cocktail hour, to dinner intermissions and breaks, we were so lucky with the beautiful weather and even more stunning venue! We wanted to keep it whimsical but definitely loved how much of a garden feel it all had!

What was important to you about your wedding – what were your priorities from the very beginning? We said from the very beginning as long as our guests are enjoying each others company, have good food and drink to fill up on and plenty of music to dance to, we would be over the moon! It would all be worth it if everyone who traveled both near and far to celebrate with us enjoyed their week!

What made your venue “the one”? Deirdre and Ciarans wonderful hospitality as well as the beautiful location! We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue!

What inspired your wedding aesthetic? Garden, whimsical, colorful!

What made the day really special and personal to you? (Things you included, unusual elements, things that people made or did for you, etc.) I loved that we had some really lovely speeches and readings from our closest relatives, especially remembering those who couldn’t be with us that day. The speeches were truly what took my breath away as I had not heard them before and knowing how much courage it takes to get up in front of all those people to share and our family did that for us, was just wonderful. Our officiant was my Uncle, who is from Kildare and he did such a lovely job we were so excited and it was so special to have him marry us!

What was your first dance? Harvest Moon by Neil Young (Lord Huran Remix)

What was your favourite ceremony reading or piece of music? I loved the Irish Blessings and the poems that we had shared during our ceremony. I also loved the song we walked down to, it was a violin verson of Human by the Killers. My husband and I love that song!

What advice would you give to other couples planning their day? Try to have fun and enjoy it as and the process as much as you can, it can be overwhelming and stressful but at the end of the day it will all be worth it!

Where did you go/are you planning on going on honeymoon? Would you recommend it? We went to London! We loved it!
