Wedding is a special event in everyone’s life. It is the beginning of a new phase of life where you two start the journey holding each other’s hands. You both enter your new life with the promise of being beside each other for the rest of your lives. Your wedding has to be special which is readily possible with a grand venue. Here is the story of Annika & Simon and the great journey of their wedding.
Where are you both from originally?
We are from Germany and Ireland respectively.
Where was your wedding ceremony held?
We had our wedding ceremony at the Unitarian Church in Stephens Green, Dublin.
What was the venue for your reception party?
We had our grand reception party at the Fallon and Byrne in Dublin. It was like a dream come true moment for both of us. Everyone has something in their mind that their wedding reception is going to be like this and that. We have got everything as we planned and the reception party was a blockbuster.
How did you guys meet originally and get together?
Well, our love story was a little bit different from the cliché stories of today. We did not meet like the regular couples. We had our first interaction online and continued messaging each other for a while. Slowly we came close and understood that it was the time for both of us to meet in person. Till then we knew each other via the chat box only. At that time, Annika was in the USA. We tried to meet a number of times but most of the time it failed as we both worked in two different industries. Luckily, I received a work in the USA and that was the time when I first met Annika. It was like a dream come true moment for both of us. We spent a whole day roaming around in the city and realized that we are meant to be together. Since then, we haven’t been apart for even a single day.
How did the proposal go?
You can say that the proposal was kind of filmy. I proposed Annika in Iceland at a waterfall. I got a ring from a vintage shop in Dublin. Annika was completely surprised and finally, she accepted my proposal. That was when we decided to get married and be together for the rest of our lives.
Could you sum up your wedding in a couple of sentences – how would you describe the look and feel of the day, the vibe?
We have been planning for our wedding for a long time since the day I proposed Annika. We decided to set up a relaxed vibe where all our guests felt welcomed and be a part of our special day. The theme was set on boho chic. That was because both of us belong to two different cultures. So, we decided to represent both the cultures and the mingling of both with dance, music and food from both of the cultures. The guests loved it and it was truly awesome.
What was important to you about your wedding – what were your priorities from the very beginning?
Our main priority was to comfort our guests and make them a part of our special day with music and food. Also, I stressed upon making it more special for Annika as she has been planning for this event for a long time. I called up her on the stage and we had a lovely dance. She was blushing with joy and love.
What made your wedding venue “the one”?
We decided on setting a city venue as it allowed all of our German guests to experience the wonderful and beautiful city of Dublin. We were sure that Fallon and Byrne’s was the one for us owing to its great culinary reputation. The ballroom over there was looking completely like a fairy tale. It was decorated in all white that made our wedding a special one. We danced for hours hand in hand. The best part was their wedding coordinator who planned everything with us from start to finish.
What made the day really special and personal to you?
The most important part for both of us was to have our families by our side on our special day. The people who spoke at our dinner made it really special with their wonderful stories as they had the freedom to say what they felt. The event became more special when everyone raised a toast for us with the city as a wonderful backdrop.
What advice would you give to other couples planning their day?
Make sure you relax and enjoy it to the fullest. Put your trust in the people who are working with couples getting married every day. And, if you are looking out for a wedding venue in Dublin, you can straight away choose Fallon and Byrne’s for making it the best day of your lives.
